Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name through our authentication provider (Clerk).

Child information: We collect your child's first name, date of birth (or approximate age), and the daily activities you provide for story generation. We never collect information directly from children.

Generated content: We store the stories, illustrations, and audio generated through the Service so you can access your story library.

Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate personalized bedtime stories for your child
  • Maintain your account and story library
  • Process subscription payments
  • Improve the quality of our story generation
  • Send you service-related communications

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Night Night is designed for use by parents and guardians, not children directly. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The child information we collect (first name and activities) is provided by the parent or guardian.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Anthropic (Claude): Daily activities and child's first name are sent for story generation
  • ElevenLabs (via fal.ai): Story text is sent for voice narration
  • fal.ai: Scene descriptions are sent for illustration generation
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Clerk: Authentication and account management

5. Data Retention

Your stories and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data and generated content within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your stories and data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
